Link: https://www.quartierzukunft.deWe will visit the "Future Space for Sustainability and Science" in Karlsruhe's Oststadt. There will be an introduction to the concept of reallabs and how they differ from similar formats (e.g. living labs).
After an optional excursus on the aspects of "Deep Sustainability" that have been less explored so far, we will introduce the Reallabor Quartier Zukunft - one of the oldest reallabs in Germany. You will get an insight into various ongoing real experiments on the topic of balcony photovoltaics and self-experiments, their results and effects.

Link: https://roofkit.de/en/RoofKIT was one of 18 entries to the Solar Decathlon Europe 21-22, in which student teams from international colleges and universities each constructed a fully functional building prototype in Wuppertal in the summer of 2022, with which they competed in ten different architectural and construction disciplines.
With the RoofKIT project, the KIT team won the Solar Decathlon Europe 21-22. In two and a half years of intensive interdisciplinary teamwork in teaching, research and practice, students and teachers addressed the issues of sustainable resource consumption, renewable energy production and living together in the city of the future from an architectural perspective.
RoofKIT is now located on KIT Campus South - we cordially invite you to come and talk to those involved in the project during the guided tour and to take a look at the building prototype.

Time: 10.10.2023 / 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Meeting point: 10:00 h s.t., in the building in front of the lecture hall
approx. 90 min. barrier-free walk across KIT Campus South
Link: https://www.im.kit.edu/gcb/index.phpSince 2014, the Green CAMPUS Office has been taking up everyday ideas and concerns for sustainable development at KIT and supporting their implementation. We would like to take you on a short excursion across Campus South to individual project stations that have been implemented at KIT for students and employees as offers to promote sustainability in practice.
These include, for example, the student campus garden, the teaching bees in the botanical garden, the creation of wild meadows, new plantings of historical fruit tree varieties, bat boxes, a water dispenser with free drinking water, several bicycle repair stations with a bicycle workshop, an "open bookcase" and a learning/communication pavilion made of sustainable materials.
We will be happy to inform and advise you about the processes required in the run-up and background to turn an idea into a final N-project. In addition, some tastings and surprises await you at the stations.
