Hygiene, safety and travel advice

The health and safety of all our employees and participants is our top priority, so we continue to monitor the situation of the coronavirus very closely and update the information on this page accordingly.

Event security

Many corona restrictions in Germany have been lifted. The new nationwide legal framework only provides for “basic protection measures”. The NRW ordinance for protection against new infections with the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (Corona Protection Ordinance - CoronaSchVO) of April 1, 2022 in the version valid from June 30, 2022 only provides for basic protective measures.As the organizer, we recommend that you continue to pay attention to learned safety standards for your own protection and that of others!

Comply with the basic rules of hygiene and conduct, including:

  • no shaking hands
  • regular hand washing
  • sneeze and cough into the crook of your arm.

Entry into Germany and arrival in Cologne

Information on the current travel situation in Germany

air travel:

Due to the many flight cancellations/failures in Germany, we recommend traveling by Deutsche Bahn, also from a sustainability perspective.

Train travel:

Trains are sometimes very busy or may be cancelled. Sometimes seat reservations are not possible or cannot be taken into account on the train for technical reasons.

So book your train journey in good time, if possible with a seat reservation.

Rental car:

The availability of rental vehicles is also very limited at the moment. The prices on the market have also risen enormously. If you are planning to travel by rental car, please make your booking here as early as possible.
